Preview and Roster for St. Joe's at Bermuda Intl 7s

Saint Joseph's University returns to Bermuda for their third year in a row. With a third place finish last year, Coach Daniel "Shags" Yarusso looks to take home the title in 2018. Go Hawks!

Hawks Head To Bermuda for Ariel Re International 7s

The Hawks will be heading to Bermuda to play in the 2018 Ariel Re Bermuda International 7’s Tournament. This will be the third consecutive year the Hawks have received a bid to the event that is played in the National Sports Stadium in the city of Hamilton. Pool play will start on Friday as the Hawks find themselves amongst some tough competition. The Hawks are placed in Pool A which includes Ohio State University, Kutztown University, Ithaca College, and Colgate University.

This Hawks team will feature mostly underclassmen which includes some of the Hawks rising stars.  Liam McGowan (’20) has looked great at training and is primed for a solid tournament. Dan Murray (’20) and James Kinzer (’20) have also looked good at training and will look to step up for the team in Bermuda.  After a stellar outing in Vegas, both George Harris (’19) and Andrew Sullivan (’20) will look to bring that same energy down to Bermuda.  A trio of freshman, Mark Dombroski (’21) from Archmere Academy, Shane Goldsmid (’21) from St. Augustine Prep, and Sean McDermott (’21) from BC High, will see their first 7’s action for the Hawks this weekend.  All three will bring some valuable 7’s experience from their HS playing days.  Jack Heffernan (’20), Brendan Mulqueen (’20) and Jason Concannon ('21) complete the roster and will have key roles to fill while in Bermuda.

The team is excited for the opportunity to play in Bermuda. Given the tough competition, the Hawks will have to bring their best in order to advance through to the Cup round. A big thanks to the parents for supporting the team on this trip, and to those parents that are making the trip to cheer the Hawks on. Go Hawks!
